What inspired you to take on the role of Board Chair?
“Taking on the role of Board Chair for Leadership Gwinnett is an honor of a lifetime. I am passionate about our community and believe in the power of leadership to foster positive change. This role allows me to give back to an organization that has profoundly impacted my life and many others, and to support both our current and future leaders.”
What are your top priorities for LG as Chair?
“My top priorities include enhancing our leadership development programs and expanding our outreach to underrepresented groups in Gwinnett. I want to ensure our programs are inclusive and accessible, strengthen our alumni network, and celebrate Leadership Gwinnett’s 40th anniversary with pride. This year, we aim to increase engagement, mentorship, and collaboration among our graduates.”
How do you hope to strengthen LG’s impact during your term?
“Leadership Gwinnett plays a vital role in shaping our community by developing informed, connected, and engaged leaders. I hope to enhance our impact by expanding community partnerships and encouraging cross-sector collaboration to tackle complex challenges. Additionally, I aim to secure more resources to solidify LG’s role as the center of leadership for Gwinnett County.”
What message would you like to share with the community?
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to our supporters and the community. As we begin this new chapter, I encourage everyone to stay involved, whether by participating in our programs, volunteering, or supporting our initiatives. Together, we can build a stronger, more vibrant Gwinnett County. I am excited about the future and look forward to what we will achieve together.”
About Paul Sansone:
Paul Sansone brings over 25 years of executive financial leadership to his role as Board Chair. A proud graduate of the Leadership Gwinnett Class of 2007, Paul has deep roots in the organization and a strong commitment to developing future leaders. In his current role as Managing Partner of TechCXO’s Atlanta Consulting Practice, Paul has vast experience in financial controls, operational optimization, and restructuring across industries like e-commerce, hi-tech R&D, manufacturing, and non-profits. He was recently named a 2024 Georgia Titan 100, recognizing him as one of Georgia’s top CEOs and C-level executives who demonstrate exceptional leadership and innovation.
Among his impressive career highlights:
- CFO at Boys & Girls Clubs of America, where he reorganized financial reporting, administered $25M in federal grants and led cost-saving initiatives across the $1.8B organization.
- CFO at Better World Books, an e-commerce company supporting global literacy efforts, where Paul increased EBITDA margins by 10% in just one year through a company-wide restructuring plan.
- Paul also held financial leadership roles at Cisco Systems, Scientific Atlanta, and IBM, bringing a wealth of knowledge in finance, accounting, risk management, and human resources. He began his career as a Senior Auditor at Price Waterhouse Coopers.
Paul holds a BS in Accounting and a BS in Economics from St. Francis University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Paul is also a Certified Public Accountant.
