Lisa Zaken, as President & CEO of Leadership Gwinnett, facilitates programs with the Gwinnett community to further civic engagement. Lisa believes the signature hallmark of Gwinnett is the collective group of leaders, united by Leadership Gwinnett, that take a holistic view of community issues with a trained eye and leads Gwinnett to a better future. Lisa has worked in the nonprofit sector for over 30 years. Starting her career at the Institute of Industrial Engineers in Technology Park/Atlanta, she worked in training and marketing to advance, promote and unite industrial and systems engineering professionals worldwide. The IIE Board honored Lisa with an endowed scholarship in her name for her two decades of service. In early 2000, she transferred her experience to the local level as Vice President Membership at the Gwinnett Chamber. It was then that Lisa really discovered her passion for the community. She graduated from Leadership Gwinnett in 2005 equipped with the tools to deeply understand the place she calls home. In 2011, Lisa became Executive Director of Leadership Gwinnett and is energized every day by the hundreds of volunteers dedicating their time, talent and treasure to make Gwinnett a better place. Lisa holds a business degree from Robert Morris University. She is active with the Association of Leadership Programs and serves as ALP ambassador for the state of Georgia. She is Board Secretary for the Gwinnett Student Leadership Team and a 2017 graduate of the Regional Leadership Institute.
