A Gwinnett County resident since 1995, Renée Byrd-Lewis is dedicated and passionate about the community. Renée’s professional experience spans private and public sector organizations, Fortune 100 and 500 multinational corporations, public higher education and private consulting. Her deep relationships across Gwinnett County and diverse portfolio of capabilities in community development, public relations, communications and fundraising resulted in her appointment as Executive Director of the Gwinnett Coalition in October 2020. She is transforming the Coalition to become Gwinnett County’s lead community development organization. An active community leader, Renée currently serves as Chairman of Leadership Gwinnett Foundation and as a Board member for the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation and Gwinnett County Public Schools Foundation. She received a master’s degree from Georgia State University, dual bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology from Emory University and resides in Buford with her husband and two sons.
